"The staff were very helpful and friendly but were missing from front desk quite often and for extended periods so we had to wait to get issues resolved. It is in a convenient location, near several places to eat but it's not easy to walk into Pontypool as the main route is a dual carriageway. We had a room for three and my daughter said the pull out sofabed was very uncomfortable, it did appear to be collapsing. I'd stay again as a couple though. "

"I really liked the fact that this was a traditional town centre hotel, with local staff who knew what was wanted, nothing fancy but very good for an overnight stay. I also liked the fact that I could book room only. However, there is nothing on the website about parking - I think it needs to say that there is no dedicated parking, that there are bays outside for one hour only, so okay to load and unload, but needs to be an indication that there is a short stay car park behind the hotel and a...

"This was a great place to stay for two nights when visiting Cardiff to watch the rugby with family. We had two apartments; they were brilliantly located, extremely functional and clean - which is exactly what we needed them to be. Luxury apartments they are not - and the price was very high because it was an international match weekend. But I’d definitely recommend as a base to stay and hang out. "

"Great for what we needed - overnight stay to break up the journey. Friendly staff clean rooms. I know it was budget hotel but room was smaller than expected. No bathroom as such but there was a separate toilet and then a shower in the wall. Would stay again if required for an overnight stop. "
