"Although we didn’t take our dog it was great to see a Hotel that welcomed them. We had a medium size sea view room which was nice however the modern lights make it dimly lite especially in the bathroom and shower where I couldn’t see which was the conditioner and shampoo and the area directly outside the bedroom windows had moss and leaves ect but these are minor things that didn’t spoil our stay and we would definitely stay again "

Breakfast was very good at £10 per person and the only downside overall if I could find one was the weather and.... no ironing board, but apart from that, it was just superb."

"Our second visit to the Blacksmiths Arms. Stayed in room 11 which was one of the little cottages at the rear of the property. Very comfortable room with full length shower in the bathroom. The food was outstanding with a good breakfast selection and delicious evening meals. The staff are very helpful and friendly. There is a bus stop on the main road every half hour to Whitby (via Robin Hood’s bay) and Scarborough in the opposite direction so we were able to leave the car and travel by bus....

The staff were all so friendly and obliging and the hotel was close to the NorthYorkshire Moors Railway station at Pickering so walking there took 5 mins. Pickering itself is charming with a good selection of shops and bakeries so there is enough for all tastes. We would return again to the White Swan."
