"First off the reception has a strong stench of cigarette smoke. On check out the hotel demanded extra money than what was listed on the book page. They listed ¥150 per person per night which was fine however they wanted another ¥350 per person for heating cost!?!? Which was never listed during booking. The purpose of having hotel booking platforms are to list everything down so there are no surprises!"

We were originally booked in a room with no private bath (must use communal onsen on the top floor for bathing) unbeknownst to us, because the room description was lacking. "I have stayed in other facilities in the area which were very good, so I was disappointed in Miyashitaya. I was under the impression that the price included breakfast but it did not. There were no full sized bath towels provided, just the little Japanese onsen towel which is difficult to dry off with. "Very nice and cozy place to stay at. The owners are very nice and kind. It was a pleasure to spend the time there. I really enjoyed having a drink with the owner. The place is at the top of a mountain with a beautiful scenery. The place is mostly for ski resort, but I used it to go around the area and visit some local attractions."
