"Expedia misrepresented this property online, stating it was a 15 min walk to beach. We are fit but walking down the three steep hills and to the beach was 25 mins. Walking back would more difficult because of steep, narrow roads. There were few walkable roads nearby without doing hills. Had we known this we would have rented a beachfront hotel. Pool & view were standouts. However there was very limited shading by pool. Internet was horrible. Food was ok though the same everyday at breakfast....

"This hotel felt more like a hostel BUT it was still very nice. Private room with bathroom and great AC. Staff was super friendly and helpful when we had questions. Great location - pretty centrally located. You only had ~10 min walk any direction to get to the “end” of the where there were shops, beaches, and dining/bars. Would absolutely stay here again if we revisited Tamarindo!"

One minor recommendation would be to reinforce the fumigation. In my bungalow, there were quite a few small ants (mainly in the bathroom, but I found a couple in the bed) and a few “zompopas”."

"The property seem new, or at least recently renovated it is beautiful. We stayed in the bungalow and it was great, but could have used a way to hang up wet clothes. Unfortunately our room wasn't ready for us when we arrived, so we had to wait. And when we got to the room, the toilet needed plunging - nothing messy, but it wasn't flushing properly. Staff was very friendly and as responsive as possible. Everything we ordered in the restaurant was delicious."

"This was one of the most relaxing and enjoyable stays in recent memory. The staff was courteous and kind. The food was amazing on sit and the accommodations were great. The resort is 2.5hours away from the airport, mostly on local roads so be prepared for a trip after your flight into Costa Rica, but the experience is well worth it in my opinion."

"Wonderful stay at the Tamarindo Bay Hotel a few weeks ago. It's like staying at a mini-resort. Very clean and efficient. Close enough to restaurant row and the beach but, far enough to have perfect peace and quiet in the evening. Our host, Marie, was there at check in and made us feel at home during our three nights here. Will definitely come back for our next trip to Tamarindo."
