"Fun to stay at a 17th century coaching inn. The I’m has a lot more f character, friendly and helpful staff and good food. Parking is limited but we were able to get a space. The room wasn’t ready by check in time but we had arrived earlier than planned. I would stay here again. There are many places to eat on the High Street. "

"Hotel and our room were clean albeit a bit tired and could do with a bit of TLC. We have a dog and this hotel is very dog friendly, ate an excellent meal in the bar in the evening and a nice breakfast in the dining room. Staff were excellent throughout, only downfall was the road up to the car park through an archway and then a very bendy narrow road upwards and the car park itself which could be challenging for some. "

Check-in was a little odd, had to walk into the bar & wait a bit. Stayed in room #20 (I think, 1st door to the right upstairs). 3 nights in late-March 2025. Negatives: No USB power. Positives: Massive amount of free parking onsite. Room was super clean & quiet. Room was completely updated throughout. Roomy space with thoughtful design...
