"Welcomed with a warm greeting from the lovely lady who checked us in. Hotel was very clean. The room was ideal for 1 night. Only downside for me was a smell that was coming up through the sink plug hole smelt a bit like the drains which was not great when trying to sleep"

Upon arrival the music was loud in the pub, we checked in and the manager took us out the back. We were in one of the self contained lodges in the courtyard and it was of a very high clean standard, as we arrived the heating was on. It was newly refurbished and it was done to a high standard. Only one fault, the is a gap between the bottom of the door and the floor...

"Nov 2024 - This is a very old pub, persevered very well and in keeping with it's original historic 656 year old design. Great food and drink selection and wonderful staff. With that in mind, it is a pub, and therefore very noisy until around 12am later at weekends. As it's old it's also very creaky, so expect to here residents walking to and from the bathroom / toilets. The rooms are what you'd expect in keeping with an old building and a little cold in winter. "Ideally located for us as visiting family that live in Charlton Kings and didn’t want to stay in central Cheltenham where most hotels don’t have dedicated parking. The room however felt a bit dated and the mattress was very soft and uncomfortable. My husband resorted to sleeping on the floor for a couple hours the last morning. "

"Comfortable bed and nice linens and fluffy new towels. Good tea and coffee sachets plus toiletries. Room was a little too warm but not a huge problem."
