"The staff were amazing and extremely helpful. Provided what we needed at request. We wish was that in them knowing we had a vehicle, that they were able to direct us to a nearby parking lot with affordable pricing. The signs are confusing at times. We ended up paying ¥3400 the first night for overnight parking and ¥6100 the second night in the nearby lots. Other than that, the room was clean except a little black mold near the AC unit. Deep. cleaning could be better. Happy with our 2 night stay...

"It's like staying with your elderly, bachelor uncle whom you have been visiting since childhood - there is a very, very slight musty smell about the spacious and old-fashioned room, the retro room heater and the same VCR player is still there after all these years (as well as the stain you accidentally put on his papered doors as a child). But, you love this uncle because he is full of mischief and fun, you feel at home, and if you go for the breakfast option, it proudly includes fresh eggs...

"Highest floors are un-livable, there are extremely loud vibrations that made me complain for money back. They didnt accept, however luckily they allowed me to change room for 4th floor, which I accepted and there the vibrations could not be heard, just extremely loud street noise intercom outside of the room."

"Nice relaxing stay. A little bit hard to get to, especially with luggage as the bus gets very crowded. No food options nearby (need to take the bus or a 20min walk along a narrow mountain road to nearest store) so make sure to bring some food if you plan to eat onsite."

"This was one of my favorite hostel experiences ever. Makoto, Ana, and Karen are the nicest staff ever, we extended out stay multiple days because we met other amazing people staying at this hostel and became very familiar with Kamakura. Kamakura should be a multi-day trip and you should definitely stay at Iza Kamakura House if you want a really comfortable and laid back place to stay. "

"Look… be prepared. No Uber or Uber eats. No restaurant meals at the hotel if you didn’t book a day in advance, this includes breakfast. BUT the owner drove us to a restaurant, and to the bus stop (we took WAY too many bags - should have kept our luggage in a locker and taken an overnight bag). We ended up having a great time, loved it!"
