"I wouldn't recommend staying in Calama if you want to visit the Atacama on tourism (we made this mistake). Calama is a pretty rough town and we were warned about car thefts. That said this hotel was pretty decent. They have a bit of an odd setup with the sink being outside the bathroom which I felt was odd and the room was quite cramped. That said, it worked out quite well for our trip, if you do stay in Calama this hotel is a good option. "

"The hostel is ultra clean and in good repair. The staff that I encountered were polite and helpful. My only complaint relates to noise. Someone next to the hostel started playing very loud music at 4:00 AM. It continued until 5:40 AM, when the police shut it down. Shouldn’t reflect on the hostel itself, but perhaps it is a commentary on the neighborhood in which it is situated. "

"The staff was nice and helpful with questions. The elevator gets stuck a lot so you have to go up and down a few times to get out. My room’s shower drain was clogged and would back up. The linens were old and my sheet s had cigarette burns in them. It is in a good location and I appreciated being allowed to check in early "

"Hostal San Pedro is a nice place, I plan on returning early next year. The owners are very friendly, the property is kept clean, it's a secure and safe place. The shared kitchen has everything one needs to cook, the property has some common areas to relax or eat in. I appreciated that our room had a small refrigerator. Everything is within walking distance - less than 5 minutes to the bus station, 10 minutes from the main area where all the travel agencies are. "

"Marco, Miguel, and the gang take very good care of the property and make sure the experience is a good one for every guest. It’s a smaller hotel than some other local ones, but this makes it quite quiet and peaceful and an escape from the hustle and bustle of all the cars and people headed in or out of downtown San Pedro. I would be happy to stay there anytime!"
