"Love the view of Mount Fuji from certain rooms and at the ryokan compound on a clear day. A little tricky getting to place using navigation online map but you will get there eventually. Breakfast is value for money. Great service."

"I think HAOSTAY is very value for money as the rooms are big (as of Japan standards) and it offers a great view of Fuji from the room window and rooftop. The Japanese or sandwich breakfast options were great. It is a 15 min walk from the train station which is manageable. For transport to the train station, they have fixed vehicle trips at 9am, 9.30am and 10am. It is recommended to book them the night beforehand as there are only spaces for approx 7-9pax. All in all, I would definitely come back again if I were to go to Kawaguchiko."

"Hotel is nice and location is good too. The fireplace was the highlight of the stay. Sipa glass of red wine hearing the firewood burn. However the room was not well maintain and there are insects."

If you're sensitive to the smell of decades of tobacco use, this hotel is not for you. If you're tolerant of this issue and want the opportunity to enjoy windows that open, and old-school amenities and service, you will enjoy this hotel as much as I do. "
