"My spouse and I booked the Fosshotel Hellnar as a stop on our Iceland road trip. It ended up being the perfect location to stop after 1 day travel from Reykjavik and partway around the Snaefellsnes peninsula. We were cold and tired by that point and the Fosshotel was so comfortable on our arrival. The fireplace in the lobby was very inviting. "My fiancé and I had a wonderful experience at this hotel. Daniel and Sam were incredibly friendly and hospitable and made our time in Stykkishólmur memorable. They both went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed, and meeting them was the highlight of our trip. As an LGBTQ couple we felt very welcome and safe. "The area by this hotel is amazing. It was clean and nice, though on the smaller side. Hot water is limited but shouldn’t be an issue if you take quick showers. "

"I like all the antique setting. It made me feel back to grandma's house. It made me feel home. We have difficulty to turn on stove and the manager showed up quickly to show us about the stove. There are washroom on every floor and several showers in the basement. "

"Incredibly cute house and very nice property. Nice to have access to kitchen and dining area. It is however an incredibly old house, which means you can hear everything - made us very aware of any noise we made - talking, walking, etc. Very glad we stayed here as was a very unique property, just something to keep in mind as felt very aware of any sounds we made. "The surrounding area is beautiful and the cottage was cozy. Staff was also very friendly. My only complaint is that we didn’t find out until entering our unit and seeing a sign on the bathroom that they don’t get much hot water. The sign says to use hot water sparingly. I made sure to get all the way in the shower before turning the water on given the warning. The warm water didn’t even last 2minutes before turning ice cold.
