On the morning of our departure, we were treated to an exquisite, home-cooked breakfast featuring all the classics—eggs, bacon, sausage, and more—truly a delightful way to start the day. The bed and breakfast is housed in a historic building, and you can feel the rich energy and character of the place as soon as you step inside. The highlight of our stay, however, was the innkeeper, Rick. A true Scottish gentleman, Rick even wore a kilt, which initially made me wonder if it was a mere gimmick. But Rick is the real deal—a genuine Scotsman with a passion for history. In fact, he's an adjunct professor at a local college, and we had the pleasure of engaging in an in-depth, two-hour conversation about World War II. His knowledge and enthusiasm for history were captivating. If you're looking for a relaxing retreat with a touch of historical charm, this is the place to be. I’ll definitely be recommending Desoto Beach Bed and Breakfast to my parents and in-laws, as I’m confident it will exceed their expectations just as it did ours."
