"Koko hotel near Nijo Castle is strongly recommended. The room was roomy enough for 4 of us. The staff was friendly. You do need to keep your keycard in the slot near the front door to activate electricity. The property is located on a smaller street (on the same street as the dry cleaner). You may miss it at first. There is a coffee/breakfast spot right next to the hotel. It is quite convenient. We used Uber during our 2 nights stay at Kyoto. They were able to pick us up at the hotel. The train station is nearby as it was 5 min walk away. The main street has plenty of market and food options. Enjoy"

"The staff were excellent, professional, and helpful in every way. Everyone spoke to us in English the entire time, which made it so easy to ask for things we needed. The room was big as was the bathroom. The buffet was delicious, especially the French Toast. Our kids were excited to be here. There were plenty of taxis available for us to use, but we also walked to places such as the Imperial Palace and McDonald's."
