This place is absolutely gorgeous! The gardens are amazing, and the traditional room was spacious and comfortable. We enjoyed a breakfast and a dinner there and found the quality and variety of dishes to be outstanding.

Super unique experience off the beaten path to stay in a beautiful Ryokan. Would be great for a value with larger families, but be prepared to understand the busses or get a taxi, not a ton to do in the immediate area. On the other hand, staff was nice, limited but plenty of English with my terrible Japanese. Food was excellent and beautifully plated. Rooms were truly amazing, one of my favorite things on my travels.

Disappointing: shared living room.

Living room is shared by several units, and there’s a need to climb steep stairs tot he second floor where the living room and bedroom are. Take note there is no onsen bath. At this price point, the food is not of amazing quality, quantity or variety. My previous night ryokan stay had onsen and MUCH better food, at USD100 less per night. Although the garden was nice and bathroom was in nice condition.
