"The Hekla Cabins are three, wonderful little cabins just off one of the main roads through the area. The cabin comfortably fit two, but there's a pullout couch (at least in Cabin One) for an additional sleeper. The kitchen has a small fridge and a stovetop, and the bathroom has a shower with plenty of hot water (WiFi was also available). "Great property a very short drive from Selfoss. We stayed a week in early November. The check in book is very thorough. I am very glad the beds were comfortable (rare these days with rental properties) and the owners were very quick to respond with all communication both prior and during our stay. The only complaints i can think of is that we could not find a switch to turn off the deck lighting which would have helped out on getting some better shots of the northern lights (which even with the...

"The best place I have ever stayed"

"The property was absolutely perfect for my group. We had great weather and viewed the northern lights 6 of 7 nights while at the property. Which was awesome saved me from driving to other locations yes the landscape did not change but the views were still amazing. I would absolutely stay here again if I return to Iceland. Yes it is a bit of a drive to Reykajavik but the location is great for touring the south coast, golden circle, and areas around the national park."

"This was a great little place that is only a few minutes off of the highway, in a farm setting. The accommodations were great and it had everything that we needed. We would highly recommend this place."

"Just spent a week at the cabin with my family of 4 (kids are 12 and 15). The cabin had everything you’d need for a family trip. Loved having the sauna and hot tub after chilly days seeing the sights. Jon checked in with me right away to make sure we got in ok (we did!). Highly recommend this cabin!"

"From the moment we arrived, our Hagi 2 cabin was a perfect retreat for our stay in Iceland. The home was well equipped with everything we needed. The bed was extremely comfortable. The location was shielded from the wind and beautifully private. There was even a washer/dryer! Robert was a terrific host and anticipated our every need. "One of the best accommodations we have in our trip. Place was really clean inside and 2 large lobby room served as a way for us to play games and eat food with while family. Best part is we were the only ones for the 3 nights we stayed. Highly recommend this place for big family. "

"What a treat it was to stay hear after arriving in Iceland. Very spacious and well equipped - this was the perfect location to recharge after travel, relax in multiple rooms, watch movies, and catch up on laundry. The neighborhood felt quiet and safe and served as our jumping off point for daily adventures. Would have loved to stay longer!"

"Bedroom was comfortable with a good, hot shower. Bed was really good and well needed after a long day exploring. Loved all the little hooks around the room for hanging stuff. (Would have liked a drying room in the hotel for our wet things!) The food options were good as was the bar (if both a little pricey compared to UK prices) Roof terrace was nice to look out over the little town. Bakery and supermarket very close for bits and pieces. Walkable in a few minutes. Would definitely return here. We had a hire car and it was about 45 mins to the airport. On the golden circle though so easy to access all roads to wherever we needed to go. "

"My son and I spent three nights at this hotel. This is a hotel that caters to horse lovers and riders. Though we did not do any horse back riding, we did appreciate that each room was dedicated to a past or present horse on the premises. A plaque with the horse's name and other information was next to each hotel room. The room and bathroom were very clean. There is a restaurant on the premises for dinner and breakfast. The breakfast buffet was extensive and dinner was a la carte and delicious. "

"The cottage met our expectations. We wanted a rural location with a hot tub and centrally located in the Golden Circle. This was exactly what we got. Staff was very responsive to our questions and asks. I would definitely come back to this location again. "

Just stay here already!....

"Such a unique and amazing experience... our bubble was cozy and felt like we were the only people in the world! The women that checked us in was super funny and nice... and as a side note. . I booked thru hotels.com but accidentally booked for the wrong date (off by one day)... since it was 3rd party vendor i was told theres nothing that can be done ... After contacting resort... they totally switched my date and accommodated my mistake.... i still cant thank them enough!!!"
