"Our first room smelled quite heavily of pot so we asked to move and they accommodated with a better room. However the toilet was ‘running’ and dribbling into the tank and was quite noisy. Hubby fixed it. Then the outlet for the coffee didn’t work and the air conditioner wasn’t working properly and then was loud. Hubby sort of fixed it but the room definitely needed some tlc. The bed was comfy and the room was clean. "

"Stay here almost every time we stay in Springfield. Can’t beat this place for the price. Only complaint for me is that since they’ve remodeled they no longer have to futon style couches in the king suite rooms. They have 2 chairs and an end table instead. Something to keep in mind if you’re banking on using the couch for an extra bed. The pictures still show a couch but according to the front desk, the only rooms now with the couch is the penthouse. Still a great place to stay for the price. "

"Our stay at the University Plaza Hotel was very good. The rooms are outdated but clean. The couch bed mattress left a lot to be desired, but they usually do. It also had numerous stains and no mattress cover. We had to go down and request bedding for it. The staff was pleasant and did deliver it to our room. Overall, a good experience and would stay again as it was very conveniently located and clean. "
