"A friend and I and our sons (who are BFFs) booked this home as a little spring break getaway, to get our city kids out into nature. It was perfect. The area is beautiful, and the house is so charming. We spent time hiking in Giant City State Park and Shawnee, relaxing in the hot tub, and just enjoying our time together. The house is really nicely set up for a family or a small group. The boys, who are 10 and 11, were obsessed with the loft area. We enjoyed a gorgeous sunrise our last morning,...

"If you’re looking for a comfortable, relaxing place to stay, look no further! This cute home located right next to Shawnee National Forest was the perfect weekend getaway for us and our dogs. The house is back in the woods with over 8 acres to explore. And the stars at night were incredible! Everything was very clean and our host provided bottled water and had all the makings for coffee. Will definitely stay here again next time we visit!"

"This house was nicely furnished and the hosts were easy to work with. We enjoyed the short stay and would return again. They offered everything we needed plus they left snacks and drinks which was I nice perk! "

Had everything we needed. I honestly do not know if there was a lakefront. We were on the move when we weren’t sleeping. "

"My husband and I stayed with our dog at this property and had a wonderful time! We have been to the trail many times during peak season, but decided we wanted to do something a little more lowkey and bring our dog. We spent quite a bit of time in the house, reading, watching TV cooking, and all of the amenities that we needed were there. Communication with the property owner, Steve, was also very easy and he was very responsive.Would recommend this cozy home! "

"It was a very pleasant stay. We ended up staying a tornado watch and warning even losing power for a short time. Our host was extremely attentive, checking on us during the power outage to be sure we were ok and if we needed anything. Would definitely stay here again. "

"My family stayed here for a short winter holiday. The house is older, but very well maintained. Kitchen and bathrooms clean and well stocked. The location on the lake is ideal. More than adequate room around the pool table for a fun game. Highly recommend"
