"This is a most unique property and we loved it! It appears to be a renovated old hunting lodge. We were three families and it easily accommodated us. Robert was helpful and easy-going. The house itself is pretty big with a 2 acre lake in the back and feeding stations - we were treated to raccoons and deer at night. "We did the Wild Hare 10k for the first time and had originally planned on staying at the large cabin at Bastrop State Park, but unfortunately it was booked. Lucky for us, because this place is like having a state park all to yourself. There are numerous trails with lots of hills and gorgeous scenery. In addition, there are delightful statues and scenes all throughout the property. If you like photo opportunities, you will be ecstatic!!! "I loved the feel of the cabin on this private property tucked among the pine trees. If you are looking for peaceful solitude, this is the place. Very close to the state park for hiking and the little town is cute too. The cabin was a little buggy, not too bad, but expected since it's in the middle of nowhere.
