The house itself is pretty big with a 2 acre lake in the back and feeding stations - we were treated to raccoons and deer at night. "I loved the feel of the cabin on this private property tucked among the pine trees. If you are looking for peaceful solitude, this is the place. Very close to the state park for hiking and the little town is cute too. The cabin was a little buggy, not too bad, but expected since it's in the middle of nowhere. I enjoyed a peaceful solo get away here. "

"We took a long weekend in Lockhart so my 15YO son could sample the BBQ joints (he's doing competitive HS BBQ.) We found this cabin on VRBO and it was perfect for us! Quiet, out of the way, and all our own. We enjoyed the trail through the woods, sunrise on the deck, and the sounds of horses and cows while we wandered around the grounds. The outdoor shower was a huge hit as well. It's only about 10 minutes from town, and maybe 30 minutes to the Long Time in Austin (where we had a baseball game on...

"Directions to the location were spot on... just wish we had known that the closest Convenient Store was 15 miles away and Grocery store 25 miles to where we could have stopped before arriving and pick up items that were needed. The hot tub did not work and looked as if it had not been used in some time so that was somewhat disappointing, but over all the stay was just what were were looking for - "

"My husband and I stayed at The Reserve for a long weekend trip to Austin, Warrenton, and the surrounding areas. The Reserve was a GREAT in-between spot for all of our weekend activities. My ONLY regret was that we had so many other things going on and was unable to spend more time on the property. Jeanne and Bubba were incredible hosts and no detail went attended to. We can NOT wait to return and will be planning our second trip soon! "
