"Unfortunately not a perfect stay which was very disappointing with it being my husband’s birthday, booked through Hotels.com so not allowed to use the pool unless we paid £45 each, I have never heard of this before.The rooms are very nice but paying £5 for nut or crisps is ridiculous. The breakfast was very underwhelming with minimal choice, awful cold poached eggs, cold plates, weak coffee, all left me feeling very sick! Not worth £291 for one night. "

"Upon arrival no staff was to be seen, but was polite and showed us to our rooms. A few hazards on entry grates raised up on tile flooring at entry ( trip hazard) lift doesnt work. We was there two nights no fresh towels or bedding. Had to buy our own toilet roll. Cleaness needs a good clean over, walls had stains, carpets need a good clean. Overall was warm, comfy. Its a hotel that would have alot of potential or would benefit a good make over. Pictures arent a true image of the hotel people are...

"We had an executive room, which was a fantastic size. There was a lounge area, a good size desk, bathroom had a bath with a powerful shower and the bed was extremely comfortable. There was a minibar in the room, an ironing board and iron and reasonable wardrobe space if you were staying for any period of time. "Excellent hotel made even better by a free upgrade. It is located in the Town of Helmsley great parking as they have their own underground car park. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. We were given a free upgrade to a poolside suit which was fantastic. The hotel itself is very well maintained and feels very comfortable.
