"We had such a lovely experience while staying here. I went back and forth between this house or a hotel and I'm so happy we choose this house. It made me feel like we got a real Costa Rican experience.Dont let the reviews of the drive-up scare you.It was a little scary the first time but we were totally fine after that initial drive, even in the dark. We saw a lot of cool animals and reptiles every drive up/down. We did experience both a power outage in the evening and a lack of water one morning, but there was excellent communication between the owner and Jairo. Speaking of which, knowing Jairo was near by if needed was a huge relief for our family since we were traveling with four young kids. We brought a package of 5 headlamps from amazon and that was plenty of light to light up the house at night the evening the mountain lost electricity.The property is gorgeous. Like....beyond gorgeous. It felt like heaven sitting on the balcony enjoying the plants, wildlife, and ocean views. There is a lot to explore on the grounds. We went to the stream/swimming hole several times. My boys just loved it. And the pool is so refreshing after a hot day exploring. The kitchen offers everything you need to cook a meal but I'll be honest, we mostly ate out at all the amazing restaurants near by. Dawn has great recommendations. My 4-year-old twins cried the first night back home because they wanted "to be back at the butterfly house." We will definitely be back next time we visit. "

"Nice property just just minutes up the hill from Uvita. We had rented a Rave 4 and spent a few days in Santa Teresa and Arenal before going to Uvita. Got a message from Andrea saying to make sure our vehicle had a 4 wheel drive button or it wouldn't make it up the hill. Decided to change vehicles to a Toyata Land Cruiser Prado. Good thing we did. Not sure the Rave 4 would have made it up the hill! Excellent property, very private, and a great Ocean view. Loren, the property manager, was very responsive. Water pressure was an issue a couple times, but Andrea gave us instructions on how to switch from city water to water tanks up the hill from the property. We enjoyed eating at many of the local sodas in town. Would highly recommend this property."

"We arrived in town and were graciously met up by Josue, who led us to this magnificent property. The owner, Eric, had previously given us a list of resources on things to do and see while in the area. They were all great choices and we had a fantastic time experiencing them. From nice dining, secluded beaches, refreshing waterfalls and roaming on ATV’s, this area has it all.The house sits on top of a hill with breathtaking views of the whale tale. The large infinity pool and stunning sunset views were surreal. The house is very roomy and spacious and has a great overall layout. The kitchen has all top end appliances and was perfect for us as a group. We stocked up on groceries and cooked some great dinners. One day we took the quads to get some fresh fish from a neighboring town. We then brought it back to the house and cooked it up. It was one of our best meals on the trip!The detached unit is spectacular as well as it overlooks the rainforest from which we could sit and watch nature at its finest. Having coffee in the morning while sitting in the small private pool was so refreshing and a great way to start the day. From Toucans swooping around the tree tops, frogs making their nightly sounds, Agouti animals roaming the property, it was an amazing experience. Our friend, who is a bird enthusiast, was overwhelmed with the different types of bird species that were in the area. We never knew what we would see next!I highly recommend renting this house. "This is the second time we have stayed at this house, but first time with Tom and Christine (property manager) and it was nothing short of amazing, again! They were super helpful with accommodating us, answering questions, and helping with anything we needed. The house itself has the best views, it is properly stocked for everything you might need to cook, or, go to the beach. We love the outdoor grill and dining area as we eat dinner and enjoy the sunset. The pool is large enough for our family to be in it together and enjoy it. We absolutely love this house and this area. In the mornings we sat and watched the sunrise from the lounge chairs, saw the coati in the yard, toucans in the trees, and many more! You will not regret this location or these amazing property managers! We will be back!"
