"We spent 18 days/nights at this site. It totally lived up to everything we do dreamed of. Jungle experience with a short drive to beaches, stores, and restaurants. We're already discussing the next trip back to this luxurious location... with the kids this time . Definitely a 10/10!! "

"Don’t hesitate, just book this house now and get ready for an incredible Costa Rican adventure. As soon as we booked, we received info and help for organizing our transport and ideas for things we could do during our stay. Throughout our visit Simone was available the entire time to help with any questions and to plan out every single day of our visit. Can’t say enough great things about Simone! Having Ruben as our boat driver and guide for the entire visit was the highlight of our trip. No boring tours in large groups of tourists! Ruben took us kayaking, fishing every day, boating through the mangroves to see monkeys, even on a night hike. We absolutely loved exploring the area with him. And after a day of adventures you can sit at the house watching monkeys or toucans right from the beautiful large decks, relaxing in a hammock or rocking chair while Dolly cooks you a delicious dinner. We also did the horseback riding and snorkeling at Cano island, both also memorable activities. We travelled with our 3 children and it was a family vacation we will never forget. Yes, the walk up the hill to the house is steep, but so worth it to be up in the trees surrounded by nothing but nature and beautiful views. Then when you are ready to explore Ruben is waiting at the bottom of the hill at your private dock to take you wherever you want to go! "

"What can I say…. Finca Manglar was awesome! A remote oasis away from the crowds, that takes you into a completely relaxed environment. While there is internet access you won’t want to use it much. Step outside into the natural wonders that surround you! Our hosts (Luis/Ruth/Raquel) were such wonderful people who make you feel like part of their family. Our biggest regret was not staying longer. The place was well equipped in the kitchen, beds comfortable and plenty of space to lounge. There is no AC but the nights were comfortable and the screens kept bugs from being any issue. (Plenty of fans to use as well)The drinking water was excellent, so no need for bottled water. You can bring your own food, but I would highly recommend having Raquel/Ruth prepare your meals. (We brought beverages, some snacks and made some PB&Js for our excursion days) Everyone loved the food and what a great way to experience typical Costa Rican fare.Do not miss out on excursions with Luis. He is an exceptional person, guide and so much fun to interact with. El Capitan Major! He knows the waterways well to navigate the river/mangroves and is also very knowledgeable of where to spot the wildlife. So many things to soak in and enjoy at Finca Manglar, definitely a one of a kind experience. "

"We stayed one night as we drive in to see the stone spheres at Finca6, which is less than 10 mins from the hotel. Stephany is the hostess and she is wonderful. The room is spare but it was clean and comfortable. The pool was perfect with chairs and hammocks in the shade. There are lots of tables under cover so you can hang out there, rather than your room. There is an outdoor kitchen where breakfast is served. It was available for guests to use to prep snacks etc. Stephany directed us down the road to a choice of 2 very local restaurants. If you go to one called Las Vegas—beware b/c our portions were huge! The food was great. There is also a mini grocery 100’ from the hotel if you need snacks. This stay waa convenient, comfortable and hospitable. We would stay again if in the area."

"This home is gorgeous! The grounds are incredible, the views are stunning. We had daily visits from toucans and other beautiful birds and butterflies. We heard the monkeys but never saw them. One morning a pizote ran through the backyard. Walter and Adolf were super helpful with anything we needed while we were there. We asked Adolf about an excursion that was a bit off the beaten path. He fully delivered with an excursion that could not have been further from tourists! This was a truly rural experience with a friend of his named Rim, who met us at the end of one of the rivers in his boat, took us to his home on the beach island of Playa Garza where him and his wife cooked us lunch, showed us around the island a bit and basically left us to explore the island and beautiful beach alone. Rim even gave me a whole fresh red snapper he had caught to take with me back to our home Fair warning, this excursion was great, but it was waaaayyyy off the beaten path so truly for those looking for a bit of an adventure. Everything else was as mentioned by others. 4WD is a must. The road up to the house is long, windy and up and down some pretty serious hills. I recommend video recording the way up and down the first time on your phone just in case. All in all an absolute amazing experience! "
