"Our stay was wonderful. Everybody was very welcoming and helpful. The location was perfect for what we wanted. Located in a quiet neighborhood with access to lots of shrines, temples, restaurants, subway, grocery store. The soaking tub and the washing machine were really nice amenities, and the heated toilet seat sold us on the whole deal.The only real issues were the security light kept going on and off because it was motion sense and there wasn’t any way to stop that so every time we moved it...

"lili kyoto is not a typical hotel. It is small — three units on the ground floor, probably about the same on the floor above (I didn’t take the elevator up to check). It is totally unstaffed; to get in the front door you must obtain a code from the owner/manager. I got mine by having a nice lady in the Kyoto railway station tourist office call the owner/manager, who promptly emailed instructions. The front “lobby” and hallway are unheated. There is no breakfast buffet, no vending machines, none...
