"Lived up to everything we needed. Shopping within walking distance. We were there on New Years, so a reliable restaurant was a must. Everything was clean. We were 3 adults so the room was a little crowded by North American standards, but by my limited Japan experience, it was probably pretty good "

"The hotel offered a free shuttle to the Golden Temple and bamboo forest. We loved both, but if you have only one day in Kyoto, skip both and go to the 1000 Tori Gates at Fushimi Inari instead. The room was comfortable but small, as most hotel rooms in Japan are. Note that the hotel is about a 30-minute walk from the centre area. "

"An older hotel but still very updated and had all amenities needed. We liked the double sinks in our superior triple room to accommodate the 4 people in our group. The location is literally across the street from Kyoto station so it was so nice when our bullet train came in super late at night and for getting around to the places we were visiting in Kyoto. Although on the main street basically in the middle of town, it was not loud and sleep was not disrupted by any means. Few staff were able to...
