"The hotel had character which we really appreciated. Priorities were matched to ours ie high quality bedding and towels and an excellent shower. The hotel is set in a lovely garden which gave you an “away from it all” feel. Staff were at the same time discreet and attentive. No gimmicks just good service "

"Spent 2 peaceful nights at the Melbreak Hotel. It was really handy for exploring the Lake District which we were happy about, the only downside was the 4.30pm check in time which we thought was quite late but we still had a lovely time. All the staff we spoke to were friendly and chatty."

"Superb location on sea front with plenty of parking behind hotel via very narrow alley. Stayed in Room 3 - stunning view over the beach / bay - comfortable 4 poster bed - plenty of power points - heating controlled via App - excelent wi-fi - limited choice of tv channels. Food - plenty of - excellent quality. Staff all very helpful & friendly. Gets full regularly so book early. "

"Overall staying is good, heating was off during the night, there isn't any sufficient soundproofing and you could hear noises/tanks from corridor, wash hand basin and self was very close and you every time you wanted to wash your face the water spilled on the floor. Staff is very friendly, food variety and very good quality!"

"Helpful friendly staff, comfortable room. Very good breakfast included in the price, with sea views from the breakfast room. The shower controls were a little stiff and difficult to operate but quality soft towels compensated. Would have appreciated net curtains to allow light into the room, whilst maintaining privacy. Overall would definitely recommend. "
