"Our room was beautiful 5* Luxury. We encountered an issue the first night, not the fault of the hotel, however when notified they went out of their way to investigate and resolve the issue. In the interim, they offered us another room and partial refund if we wanted it. Whilst in discussion re: the issue we mentioned we were there for our anniversary and wanted to remain in the executive suite, so when we returned to the room we found a card and chocolates from the hotel staff. 5* service and very thoughtful staff. Highly recommended. Thank you Howfields for a very pleasant stay."

"The hotel exceeded our expectations, we didn't expect 4-5 star service from the budget hotel with such low price, and we read through the previous reviews, so we really expected an old traditional place rather than modern network hotels. However it was better than in the reviews. The hosts are very kind and helpful, the breakfasts and dinners were excellent. It's incredible how 1 woman can cook so many delicious meals for guests. The owners are such hardworking people! The room was very clean. So actually for this low price we got a clean room, hot water, cosy bed, delicious British breakfast. The only drawback was the internet speed, it was very slow, but we stopped there for the hiking and exploring nature, so low internet speed could be a part of the whole plan to get rest of city civilisation. It was a bit chilly in the room but we asked the owner and he immediately brought us an additional heater, we didn't turn it on though because it wasn't that bad. "

"Difficult to fault this place for the money paid. Rooms are spotlessly clean, if a little dated. Staff are very friendly and helpful and allowed us to store our bikes in the room for a bike park Wales trip the following day. Good breakfast for all. Would definitely recommend and would stay again"

"OMG I am amazed that this place wasn't better frequented when i stayed last night. The rooms are well furnished, clean and very comfortable. The bar area is nicely decorated and the food was delicious, it was curry night yum! The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay here again. "We had a delightful stay with our dog at The Tiger. The staff were friendly and helpful. We ate in the hotel- we thoroughly recommend Chicken& Leek Pie. Lovely beer/lager.Our only niggle would be the rooms are all on the top floor- a few stairs to negotiate. We would stay again."

"The studio flat was excellent with a well equipped kitchen and it was all very clean. The "host" Kathryn was excellent at communicating with me - I had a couple of queries and she was VERY responsive and helpful."
