We had to share a restroom which was not stated in the original reservation. Linens and towels are not in our room and we had to walk far to get them. Our AC and electricity did not work, forcing us to have to check out a night early. Terrible experience

We stayed there for one night. Rented two bed in an eight bed dormitory. We got there around 2.30 and they assigned to us one room, we left all of our things in the beds, and then when we got back around 7 pm, there was someone else using one of our beds, so we asked the receptionist and he said, we had to go to another room, so we changed, we went out again, ad when we get back, again one of our beds was occupied, they made us change our room again at 2 am!!, we changed, and then we realized that there was only one bed in the room they assigned to us now, the receptionist had to come up to see it, and changed again, at the end one had to sleep in one room and the other in another room. They said they would get back the money of one bed, we left our contact and they haven't contacted us yet! It was a really terrible experience, changing one time is fine, we can understand they Mae a mistake, but three times, is too much. Their excuse was they had just opened the hostal again. They need to have a better control system.

A friendly place with well equipped kitchen
The management and service were surprisingly good and friendly, running in the true spirit of a youth hostel and the generosity of the good old 1970s. The location is superb, situated at the heart of the old town with most everything within 5-15 minutes walking distance.! Every corner of the venue has been well maintained, reasonably clean and well ventilated, considering that an old building. The place is fun, vibrant, and yet peaceful. Area of improvement: 1-breakfast, 2-bedding and blankets : 3-the bathroom can be cleaner. All in all, I have a wonderful stay and will stay there again.

Review
First off the staff were really nice and the location is excellent for exploring the historical parts of Quebec. Back patio was a nice spot to chill out and get some fresh air. On the less positive side, the floors were quite loud and squeaky and the hostel quite stuffy, especially at night in your dorm room!! Also, as a solo female, I didn't love that I ended up in a room with all men so maybe request otherwise if you would feel the same and i'm sure they would accomodate.

Great location, not much else
The location is fantastic, right in the heart of old Quebec, in walking distance to everything. The person who checked me in wasn’t the friendliest, but my second day I asked someone else for an extra pillow and they happily gave me one. I was told someone would be there 24/7 but when I checked out at 7am there was no one, so I had to leave my sheets at the desk to catch my train. The mattress is atrocious. I’m not sure it even constitutes as a mattress, it’s vinyl. Typical flat hostel pillow, and the room only has a small fan so it gets very hot for the summer. The rooms also don’t have locks, so anyone can enter any room. The doors are kept open during the day to cool down the rooms, so not the best security.

All facilities in the hostel were good except the sound of closing door from other room was too loud. The location is very strategic and close to the tourist attractions. But if you plan to walk to go to this hostel from the train station, you will be very surprised that you have to walk uphill and it will be very tiring if you bring big luggage, I suggest you get a taxi to save your energy.
