"What an absolute gem! I needed somewhere to stay near to Leicester for 1 night & this place looked picturesque & was reasonablly priced but beyond that I had no real expectations but boy did this place exceed them all! As I was arriving a bit later than anticipated I received a call to confirm that an email would be sent to me with check in details & that a key would be left in a safe location for me. The woman I spoke with was really lovely. The lodges were easy to locate & on arrival I was impressed by the secure entry. To my delight I was also greeted by an array of animals- a very chatty turkey, goats, alpacas, a lovely big pig& a white peacock! On entering the lodges I noted a good level of security. I was delighted to find a microwave along with various itmes of cutlerry, crockery and glassware. There were also two Vending machines, one food one drink, in the entryway which although I did not need to use it is always reasurring to know that there is something available should you need it. The room itself was just wonderful. A door straight out onto decking with a stunning view of the water and a family of ducks/ducklings. As I was with my toddler I was delighted to see that the door was able to be double secured and we instead opened the curtains to enjoy the view. The room itself was spacious, clean & comfortable. There were various gadgets in the room which was cool as well as a fridge. Highly recommended, will stay again. Local shop & takeaway great and 2 min drive."

"The house was great for our family who travelled from four different parts of the country to celebrate my husband's birthday. Access from the motorway was very straightforward. The communal areas in the house were warm and welcoming. The bedrooms, each with their own en suite, were well-appointed and comfortable. In my opinion, the photos on the website don't do the property justice. We enjoyed exploring the grounds and found play equipment for the children. The location was perfect: we visited the Transport Museum in Coventry and had a great pub lunch at the Greyhound Inn: both were just 15 minutes from the house. A memorable family weekend, enhanced by a lovely house!"

"This country home has great potential but needs a lot of work to be up to par, particularly for larger parties. There was good space for the 12 people in our party, but again beds and amenities in the rooms and bathrooms could use updating. It's an old home but I've stayed in plenty of old homes that have been updated as best they can. We experienced a roof leak in one of the bedrooms on the first night, and to be fair the property owners responded quickly to get it fixed. The listing itself needs to be significantly updated with more pictures and descriptions of the property. As of the time of this writing, all bedrooms and spaces in the house are not even pictured. The biggest thing by far that was not disclosed was the daycare right next door to the house, and by next door I mean almost attached. There was child dropoff every morning in our driveway and pickup every afternoon. To be fair again, we had no real issues or conflicts with this situation as we were gone a lot, and the kids were not loud during the day, but none of this was mentioned or disclosed in the listing. The house needs updating, better cleaning, and better information in their listing, but it really does have huge potential to be a great VRBO property. The grounds are beautiful and very quiet."
