"Overall, it was a great stay. The lobby was modern, spacious and nicely designed. The staff spoke English well. They were very polite and professional. The bed was stiff and comfortable. The room had very nice lighting. The location of the hotel is a bit out of the way, not a desirable view outside, but wonderful on the inside. "The hostess at this hotel was the best! She was so helpful and kind. The room was quaint and had a wood ceiling and wood beam, which gave it lots of character. We had a private bathroom that was down 5 steps which was a little tricky to use. It was an older bathroom and had a few small issues. The hotel was about 5-10 minute walk from the train station which made it really convenient for dropping off our luggage before exploring Florence. Our hostess provided a delicious breakfast for us."

"The staff at this hotel were incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout my stay. The rooms were immaculate and very comfortable. I really enjoyed the delicious breakfast each morning and loved the convenient location close to the railway station and major attractions. "Gia was exceptional. He went out of his way to make us feel welcome and went above and beyond for us. This boutique hotel is a must stay. The thoughtful architecture, atmosphere, and small details all stand out. The bedding was luxurious and comfortable and the shower and products were outstanding. We can’t wait to visit again soon. 5 stars. "

"We got a family connecting room. One of the rooms was constantly blowing hot air and there was no way to reduce the temperature. The elevator was tiny - I have not seen such a tiny elevator. Otherwise staff were really nice and helpful. The hotel was overall nice. "

"Check in process was quick. Good value for money as place is very clean and close to transportation. Missed the fine print statement that bathroom was shared which was a dissapointment, nonethless it was cleaned daily and kept neat. Room does not have aircon so need to keep the balcony doors open but the noise from trams outside makes it difficult. "

"Overall very nice place and would stay again the next time we are in Florence. The apartment is on the 2nd floor and stairs leading up are a bit steep and narrow so be careful when bringing your luggage down. The apartment was clean and nice size for 2 people. Only thing was that the shower is a bit small and tight so may be difficult for bigger people."

"The hotel was located on a quiet street on the perimeter of the central historic where sites such as the Duomo and the Ufizi are found. We loved the location as it was quiet and only a 5 minute walk to excellent restauants and 10 minutes to the historic central. The hotel has a nice blend of traditional and modern decor. The reception staff were very welcoming and helpful in providing restaurant recommendations. Our garden-view room was much larger than we typically have seen in hotels in Italy. Orto De Medici is a well-priced gem. "

Above and beyond

"It’s the best location for eating, drinking, shopping and seeing the history of it all. It’s a boutique style hotel with an awesome rooftop bar and restaurant and view. We had a 24 hour delay back to the US due to weather and the hotel staff accommodated our every need from transportation to other things to do while we spent an extra day there, to include assistance with opening a few bottles of wine for us. Emmanuel was even on the phone with airlines trying to assist us in rebooking our alternative flights back to the US. Can’t wait to stay there again during our next visit and will recommend them to all our friends. Ciao’. "
