"We had a pool suite for a family of 4, and the room was enormous and so luxurious. The bed was very comfortable, and my children said that the sofa bed was too. We absolutely loved the pool on the balcony. Breakfast was very busy, and an amazing number of guests somehow manage to drop food on the floor. The staff were quick to clean it up and replenish the food. We had buffet dinner once and that was really nice. There was a good selection of food that was constantly topped up. The pools were excellent, but it was slightly annoying that other guests hogged the sunbeds by placing towels on them early in the day but didn't go there until later. "

The hotel is kept in impeccable condition, the staff are INCREDIBLY kind and helpful, breakfast was outstanding and the pool is beautiful. It is a little out of the way from the action in Funchal so I wouldn’t have wanted to stay the entire time here but if you’re looking for a place to get away and relax, this is for you. "

"A great environment at Quinta da Penha de Franca for our 7 nights in Madiera. Relaxed and uncrowded with a very good breakfast and an excellent cocktail bar. Madeira is an affordable Island paradise which improves every year. Stay in Funchal and visit Camara De Lobo and Machico. "
