"Absolute gem of a property. Perfect location, 10 mins drive to Calheta and its great beach. In walking distance to a few great restaurants in the cute little town. The property is very spacious with great seating areas in the garden and the covered porch area with it's huge windows. The pool was just perfect and beautiful when lit up at night. The house has everything you could need and was clean and tidy. Would not hesitate to book again."

"Absolutely fantastic stay! I come to Madeira yearly and when I’m with family I ALWAYS stay at either Leahouse or Laurishouse and you cant beat the location and the fantastic community! With the highway right there you can go everywhere. When we have any issues they respond quickly and never a problem! The houses have EVERYTHING! Top quality! Strongly recommend, you wont be disappointed!!"

Slightly out of the way so a car is essential, and like most of Madeira it’s on a hillside so not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. "We found this apartment extremely difficult to find with the directions given. We had to ask help from locals to find it. Perhaps it would have been easier if we had a GPS with us for directions. Once found the apartment was great, very quiet, had all we needed (other than a corkscrew for the wine). A lovely area to visit."

"The house sits on the hills, with a very nice view, especially in the mornings. A couple of cats usually come to greet you and it helps to give them some food! They’re very friendly. I stayed for a month and had pretty much everything I needed. The shop is a 15 minute walk away, pretty small and slightly expensive so if possible drive to a bigger one! The host was very friendly and even picked me up at the airport as I don’t drive. There’s a path next to the garden which is rarely used but still...

"It was a charming well planned home. The kitchen with lovely cabinets was bright and very well equipped. Very comfortable beds. There were good heaters on the walls but it was still quite cool as the house was very exposed sitting on a cliff. We loved the well built windows and balconies that gave us views of the distant towns and ocean. We were able to access a Levada very close by which was convenient for us. It was also a very quiet area with little traffic."
