"This is our third stay over about twenty years at Aura del Mar. This place is heaven. The staff is excellent; the grounds are stunning. If you love Mexican art/architecture/colors, this place is for you. The rooms all face the sea and the views are magical. The staff hooks you up with reservations at the good restaurants, and there’s a taxi stand at the bottom of the hill so taxies are there within 2-3 minutes, ready to whisk you around the bay. The beach is calm and the sand is lovely. We usually go to Sayulita, which we’ve loved for many years, but now stay away during Christmas and Spring break because it’s packed. Zihuatenejo beach is super uncrowded, even on Spring break week. Give this place a try—if you like old school Mexican charm, you won’t be disappointed. "

"Beautiful setting and views. Affordable. Room needs more electric outlets. Stairways need handrails for elderly. Elevator down to beach broke down twice, but shuttle was available with up to 15 minute wait."

"The rooms were beautiful. The property was very clean. Lots of activities, great for kids. Access so close for Ixtapa Island. The only thing we did not like was the pool deck and the stairs are really slippery, every day we saw someone slip and fall that were just walking. Other than that we would definitely go back. "
