"Clean, comfortable, bright property on the water just steps from Thames Street shops and dining. This is an excellent location from which to enjoy Newport. Staff are genuinely helpful and there is a large, bright laundry. "

"Really lovely one night stay in April. Check in was really easy and we were given a free upgrade. The hotel was lovely and felt really clean and contemporary. We had a lovely view of the harbour from our room."

"I know we were off season but the outdoor area looked a bit of a mess from our rooms. We specifically upgraded to have a nice view and looked down onto a patio that was in disarray and a filled dumpster. "

"For our 25th anniversary we chose Newport, RI for a getaway. As first time visitors, we researched options and chose the Vanderbilt because it seemed central in location and the fact there were onsite spa services and good bar. This first choice was fortunate because we then met Morgan, the lead concierge. I booked the hotel and then immediately emailed re:spa services. Morgan called within 5 minutes of my email to book our appts and then proactively offered other services, ideas, and resources....

"The Marriott is a beautiful property. It is within walking distance to shops and restaurants and is located on the water - the views while having breakfast are breathtaking. We will definitely stay here again when visiting Newport."
