They've done an amazing job keeping most of it's original features, but added a modern twist to it, giving it a wonderful aesthetic. I was expecting the machiya to be freezing cold without turning on the heater due to machiyas having poor insulation, but it wasn't cold at all with the heater off. "Beautiful home with traditional furnishings. Clean and well situated. The stairs make taking luggage upstairs a little tricky as they are narrow and steep. Only hiccup was instructions for controls/ washing machine unclear. Instructional pictures provided did not match actual machine and difficult to figure out. Tried to get help from hotel for transportation upon check out but was told to get a taxi on the street. Otherwise, very cute home to stay in, nice to have a livinroom and kitchen area....
