"Thank you Nikko Hoshinoyado- we had a wonderful Japanese experience in Nikko and at the hotel. We are sorry we don’t speak Japanese, and that made little things challenging a bit. We wish we knew that for a best experience we should have booked dinner at the hotel because we did not find a single suitable place to eat within walking distance of the hotel (October 18, 2024). So we did not have dinner that night. Breakfast, on the other hand was fantastic. We also loved the Onsen experience....

Walk up hill past Saitoh Dental Clinic. Walk to end of high stone wall on right. Continue past grassy area on right. A 2nd stone wall begins. Take right at first opening and bear right. "A lovely little spot, next to the river. You can hear the river lightly in the background from my room, which made it lovely to fall asleep to. A very friendly, warm welcome. Clean, comfortable - the only thing to note is if you’re arriving in the evening like I was, and walking from bus stop, it can be a dark walk, especially if you’re alone. But waking up there is beautiful surrounded by forests. The onsen is lovely too, looking out over the river, and private! "

"I arrived to the area with a rental car, and they have an attendant who will come by and guide you to check in and help with luggage as they'll move your car and keep the keys afterwards. Check in was easy, with a minor mixup as they brought me to another room confusing me with another foreigner who would be checking in same day but corrected it quickly. Booked with a half board, and both dinner and breakfast were delicious for both days with nicely presented locally sourced ingredients....

"This is a small hotel with limited hotel rooms. Some rooms need to shared bath. We stayed in a Japanese style room with a private bath. The room is not fancy but clean and confortable. The hotel is walkable distance to most of the attractions, only 2 min walk to Shokyo bridge, 15 mins walk to Toshogu Shrine, and 18 mins walk to Tobu-Nikko train station. The Heritage shuttle bus stop 7 is right in front of the hotel. "
