"A beautiful property in the middle of a quiet village! After a delayed flight and late arrival they patiently guided us to Askoutsi. We did not expect to find it so spacious with everything you would need and so beautifully renovated. Even juices, sandwich supplies and fruits waiting for us. Valia was wonderful and accommodated any of our needs or questions. Her goodbye surprise of delicious mizithra sweet rolls was so thoughtful! We especially enjoyed meals and the quiet nights of stars and goat bells in the beautiful courtyard, and the hot tub. The only drawback for us was the super firm mattresses that were harder than we prefer, but adding a blanket underneath us helped. We enjoyed the nearby bakery, access to many wineries, Knossos and ancient ruins. Make sure to walk around the village to see the beauty and simplicity of life. We wish we could’ve stayed longer, and will definitely book more time here next visit! The drive south to Plakias has stunning scenery and is a perfect beach town with a meal by the water at Alianthos cafe. Free sun beds and umbrellas are adjacent to enjoy the beautiful beach and Libyan Sea. So much to see and a week was too short. This place is a gem! Thank you Valia, loved our stay!! "

"We arrived at 1am on Saturday morning due to flight delays but we were met and shown around the villa, it is a beautiful villa, very clean and well laid out, beautiful views and a loverly outside area It is a bit remote the area it is in so definitely need a carbut lots to do and see within a 15-20minute drive"

"Manolis' house in the beautiful small village of Amari was the perfect setting for a beautiful relaxing vacation. The house has everything you might need and more. The rooms are very comfortable and the outdoor spaces are incredible. And the swimming pool is the icing on the cake to cool off on hot summer days. Manolis is a wonderful host providing a super warm welcome, with all the information and a variety of local products for us to enjoy upon arrival :) And just to top it all off, Rumy is an absolute gem of a lady, and it was wonderful to be able to enjoy delicious home cooked meals at the house. All in all, an absolutely fantastic experience in one of the most beautiful regions of Crete, Thank you so much Manolis and Rumy!"

"We spent a week at the villa and it was truly wonderful and everything we had dreamed of for a “week of relaxation in a beautiful, authentic Greek village in a very quiet area.” A few things made it wonderful: -Manolis and Mrs Rumy could not be more helpful and ready to help. Manolis waited for us late into the evening our first night so we could meet and he could show us his amazing villa. Mrs Rumy brought the delicious food we had pre ordered. Manolis was helpful and available throughout our stay, providing taverna and day trip recommendations. -the villa is spacious and incredibly relaxing. Our favorite “activity “ was hanging out on the terrace, which is accessed through French doors in the living room, looking at the gorgeous view of the valley and listening to the goats. -beautiful walks around the village and in the nearby woods. Our time in Amari and Crete was the highlight of our trip which included some other amazing places; Santorini, Thessaloniki and Athens. One last thing about Amari-very few tourists!! We liked that :-). I can’t recommend Villa Samitos enough and we hope to return."
