"Booked 1-night for March 2024. Amazing location in the Old Town just steps away from shops, bars, restaurants etc. Everything inside the property was pretty much perfect, the room, the beds, the facilities, the patio, the view! . So many little touches from the host that made it special. Definitely 10/10."

"Parking is difficult. No cars are allowed in the Old City so you will probably have to walk about 300m or so to reach the hotel. We were advised that there was street parking, a free lot, and a pay lot a shot met distance away, but everything was always full and we were there in Dec. Also there is a market in one of the lots on Thursdays, so no parking there. "Summer Dream was the best hotel we could ask for. It was extremely modern, great view, and the town of Rethymno has a wonderful downtown area. If you go, I recommend Achinos, I believe it is spelled. The best food we had in Greece. Summer dream is also located next to many markets including SKYNKA, which is walking distance. I would absolutely recommend staying here. It was the best part of our trip in Crete. "

"It is located in the Old Town. There are only six rooms and so there isn't anyone there full time- they request that you tell them when you plan to arrive. We have a good sized room with a private deck. On the deck there is a very large Jacuzzi, though we didn't use it. A large umbrella provides shade. There is a table and chairs where it is pleasant to eat breakfast or you can go up to the roof and dine there in the sun. There is also a folding contraption that you can use to dry your towels...

"The property is exquisite, no doubt. Very unique building and room that has kept some of the original building characteristics. Couple big issues though. First, the Wi-Fi is totally unusable, at least in the room we reserved. Was told it was normal because of the old stones used in buildings. If that’s the case, they should have a mesh network or a better solution than whatever they have now because we legit couldn’t get things to load and were told there was no internet at times by sites....

"We loved the sea view apartments! We were a bit dubious at first as the first floor is a bit run down, however where the apartments are is very clean and well kept. It was in a great location and the room had everything you could need, especially if you were staying for longer than a few days. Stone Made villa in picturesque village! Private pool & full privacy!

One of the most beautiful places we’ve ever stayed in!

"My girlfriend and I stayed here with a couple friends for two weeks and can say that this villa is absolutely amazing for the price. It’s huge, with beautiful views of the mountains and sea during the day as well as the stars at night. The host Alexandros and his family were very accommodating, we arrived to a welcoming tour of the property and a gift basket. There is a wonderful aroma of flowers in the morning from the garden. The barbecue pit was also stocked with coal and fire starter which was nice. Overall I would recommend this place to any small group or families looking to stay in Crete. It’s located in a peaceful village in the mountains and is a short drive to the lively city of Rethymno. Being in the center of the island it’s also no more than about a two hour drive at most to many scenic or notable places to visit. Renting a car though is a must. "

"A very charming small hotel. The hotel was an old olive oil producing village that fell into ruin. Each of the rooms has been renovated from small workers cottages to a charming standard. It is such a lovely, quiet spot away from the hustle and bustle. The pool is idyllic, the only criticism would be that I think it should be adults only. The ambience was somewhat spoilt when there was a couple with a baby who was crying by the pool and had the parents speak baby talk which ruined the quiet setting, the hotel is much better suited as an adults only due to its quiet nature. Food was excellent, breakfast choice is vast and evening meals were always excellent albeit on the pricier side, but we ate there every night. The hotel is a bit isolated away from the main tourist areas but that suited us down to the ground to be somewhere quiet. We would return. "

Fantastic property

"We had a lovely stay at this beautiful villa. Our host could not be more accommodating. From a lovely cooked meal for our arrival as we were late to the package of local goodies and home made cake and also booking recommended restaurant, nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely return and highly recommended if you want a peaceful vacation "

Double Booking

"VRBO and Belvilla messed up this booking - the property we booked was not available as it was already privately rented out by the owners of the property. VRBO booked from Belvilla and they in return did not book/ speak to the owner of the property.This has caused us very high levels of anxiety and stress. The owner of the property has no fault in this as we kept in touch with him and he always responded to our emails. However, this was not the case with VRBO - they haven’t sorted it out and we’re still waiting to be refunded! "

Fantastic holiday villa

"We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Villa Gaia. The villa was clean and spacious with fantastic outside space. It was in a quiet, rural location however was still convenient for local restaurants, supermarkets and the beach and there were many things to do within an hour’s drive (including the airport). Zacharias was a generous and kind host. He insisted on meeting us at the villa despite us not arriving until after midnight. I would highly recommend a stay here."

Perfect family get away.

"Amazing venue. Host communication was fantastic. Facility was fantastic. Host looked after pool when we left to go out but checked to see when we were leaving. Lovely setting in the heart of Crete. We stayed with friends and none of us had any complaint. AC in every room, plenty of utensils and pots and pans what you need for a big party. Would highly recommend to anyone."
