"Our week long stay at Koupos Villa was exactly what we wanted; quiet and relaxing. The villa is beautifully finished and had all the necessary fixtures we needed to enjoy our stay. The owners were so helpful and kind, leaving some fruit and coffee with other essentials for when we arrived. They even changed bed linen and towels mid week which was a bonus. The outdoor setting of pool and bbq/pizza oven were amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed making full use of them. The nearest shop was a 5 minute drive away in small nearby village and bigger supermarket (lidl) only 15 minute drive away. We enjoyed exploring Rethymnon one day and even walked around surrounding villages some evenings as sun was setting. would highly recommend this villa and would happily stay again in the future."

"A very charming small hotel. The hotel was an old olive oil producing village that fell into ruin. Each of the rooms has been renovated from small workers cottages to a charming standard. It is such a lovely, quiet spot away from the hustle and bustle. The pool is idyllic, the only criticism would be that I think it should be adults only. The ambience was somewhat spoilt when there was a couple with a baby who was crying by the pool and had the parents speak baby talk which ruined the quiet setting, the hotel is much better suited as an adults only due to its quiet nature. Food was excellent, breakfast choice is vast and evening meals were always excellent albeit on the pricier side, but we ate there every night. The hotel is a bit isolated away from the main tourist areas but that suited us down to the ground to be somewhere quiet. We would return. "

The location was great for exploring Crete but the house was so nice to come back to after a day of bopping around. The house is very nicely furnished and there are lots of nooks to relax and enjoy. "We had a fabulous week here. The cottage is very spacious and clean and a great location to explore Crete if you have a car. Rethymno is only 18 mins away and we visited often. Beaches, Knossos Palace, Olive oil tastings, Gorges and amazing food all contributed to make a memorable week. The pool is cleaned often and the house was cleaned on Wednesday leaving fresh towels. "Quiet and rural, relaxing and nature-immersed, the villa was an ideal spot for an early summer break. Nikos was the perfect host, attentive and communicative but not over-bearing, simply offering guidance and support when needed. The villa is relatively simple, but perfectly and comfortably functional, clean and suffiiciently-equipped. The garden and surrounds were naturally beautiful, with cats, peacocks and swallows regular visitors, plus the added bonus of a single-eppearance shrew. The pool is ideal size for a family of three, and its relative shallowness would suit familes with young children. Friendly and fine local restaurants abound, be they the two local ones around four and seven minutes' drives (in Lampini and Mixorrouma), or a sheer glut of them in Spili, an easy ten-minute car journey, The local village Mixorrouma also offers a small supermarket, with two larger ones in Spili. A perfect place for that much-needed away-from-it-all holiday, and thanks to Nikos and his family for the welcome, friendliness and local food-and-drink gifts (especially the raki)."
