"Great location for the city centre. All the staff are super friendly and helpful. We had our dog with us and she was spoilt with treats by the staff in the bar. We had a basement room that was really quiet and lovely and dark overnight. The bed was comfy and the shower was great. Huge bathroom!"

"Have stayed here many times over 30+ years. Still feels special after so many visits and highly highly recommended. Staff are great, location & setting can't be beaten and restaurant does fabulous breakfast and afternoon tea (haven't eaten dinner there so can#t comment on that but suspect also great!) Only thing to be aware of is that this is a Grade 1 listed building so that limits what they are allowed to do re modern plumbing etc so if a high pressure shower is a must then you'll have to stay in a modern soul-less concrete alternative! My only reservation in writing this review is that encouraging more of you to book reduces my ability to get a room at short notice!"

"Was given notices months in advance that they would be going through some renovations during our stay; this was no problem to us. We were still able to park on-site and they are just minutes from The Roman Bath, a must! Everyone was warm and welcoming. The restaurant at the hotel was top notch! One of the few placed that we stayed that had a fridge in the room! Our room was comfortable; fan was provide. "
