"The staff were very friendly and helpful. Ms Izumi provided detailed instructions during the check-in procedure. The onsen facilities were excellent - exactly what we needed to relax and enjoy the amazing surroundings. The kaiseki dinner on the 1st night and the Kobe beef on the 2nd night were excellent. We would definitely return to stay."

"We stayed at Kaneyoshi Ryokan for a weeklong stay in Osaka and it was just perfection. First, location wise it was right in the heart of Dontonburi so if you’re there to see sights, then it is absolutely walkable (you’ll be right in the thick of the crowds and bustling energy of Osaka). As for the digs, it’s a very traditional Ryokan room despite being in such a modern city which was just amazing. The private and public baths were a real highlight. "The views were amazing. A perfect position to watch the sunset and sunrise over Osaka and Mino'o forest. The hospitality of the staff was so kind in a way I've never experienced before, they felt very heartwarming and welcoming. "Great location - barely 2 blocks away from the train station. The host, Sugita, that greeted us was fluent in English! She was very hospitable and gave us information/recommendations around the area. The mall across the bridge has many cute stores and food to check out. The whole area is very quiet and peaceful. We got a room with a private onsen, facing the water - beautiful view. Strongly recommend!"

"This is the traditional Japanese onsen hotel The breakfast was great Many Japanese style food along breads, pasta , sausage The onsen is awesome Staff speaks English They have shuttle pick up from jr station and they even drove us to bus station when we requested it "

"My partner and I, from Canada, stayed for one night in November. We loved our large room, with a nice stone bathtub, and a beautiful view of the mountains & the leaves starting to change. We got the 1/2 board with kobe beef, and thought the food and service were excellent. The private bath was lovely, and so was the outdoor onsen. The onsen is open all night, which is good because I feel like this ryokan is a family-focused hotel (when we were at breakfast we were the only table without a baby)....

"Staff explained well the dining experience, what to expect and how to eat and the food served. Onsen was great. Kobe to this place was only 1 bus ride and direct. Then just walk leisure 3mins to the hotel. "

"Staff was incredible. Very helpful and friendly. The location is beautiful but the decor a little outdated. The room was very smokey but ok once we opened the window to air it out. The food was EXCELLENT. The outdoor onsen was my fave. I would stay here again despite the smokey room - just make sure you request a non-smoking room!"

"A wonderful stay in this marvellous hotel. Short walking distance to Namba station with many choices of local foods nearby. Staffs were friendly and no problem with english. Room was big enough for my family of 3. Have a small kitchen, dining area and also a bathtub too. "

Hotel Monterey - a great hotel

"Checking in at the Hotel Monterey Le Frere was a very straight forward process! Elevator brings you to reception immediately. Because of it's central location in Kita Ward it was a very popular location. The hotel and the room was very clean and spacious for chain hotels of this nature. With a Lawson and a pharmacy in the same building space, convenience was at an all time high. I would gladly stay here again it was a lovely experience."

"The hotel is very nice and clean. The room has very good size for two people. My room has excellent city view. The staff is very friendly and super helpful! My sister lost her necklace while showering. The staff tried their best to help her to look for it. Although it was not found but we really appreciate their efforts! The location of the hotel is perfect and close to everything. We love the stay."

"This was a great location for a visit to Osaka, located directly above the Namba station and many transit lines. The staff spoke English reasonably well, and were focused on service. It took me about a day to get oriented to the massive underground shopping center and transit hub and the connected buildings, but once I did, it was easy to navigate. Also easily walkable to Dotonbori is a popular entertainment district in Osaka, Japan, known for its nightlife, shopping, and street food. The breakfest buffet on the top floor of the hotel offered a great selection and stunning views, and was handled very efficiently. Overall, a great experience. I would stay here again."
