"Great hotel for Newcastle Airport."

"The location was great, 1 block from the seafront. Very dog friendly even allowing us to have breakfast with the dog. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Parking was good at the back of the hotel, but i think it should have had cameras. The room was clean although very hot. There was no heating on and the windows wouldnt open. The bathroom was large with a shower and a bath. Everything you needed for a nights stay."

"Good start with friendly reception staff, but the room was like a prison cell: one strip flourescent light, wood-chip walls, saggy mattress. I know you get what you pay for, & I already knew the room did not have a private bathroom, but it was very bleak and very disappointing. I would not recommend unless desperate."

"Just a one night stay in the area. I only paid £41 for the night so didn’t expect too much. Perfect location for the sea front and Spanish City, town centre in easy walking distance. Rooms at the front will have a fabulous view when work is completed. Firstly the hotel is undergoing major renovations so looks a mess at the front - new bar and dining facilities planned. Inside it is very much on the old side but very clean from what I could see. Friendly and helpful staff. First class breakfast in terms of choice and quality. I would quite happily stay again."

"A decent hotel with a clean room and en-suite bathroom. Lots of stairs to access the quiet room on the second floor in the Carlton hotel part across the road from the Cairn hotel. "
