"The property itself is beautiful and in a great location, but there were some significant downsides to my stay. First, the room was a disappointment. It looked nothing like the photos advertised, it was very basic and lacked the charm or luxury I was expecting based on the images. Additionally, the design of the hotel is not practical for travelers with luggage. There are stairs in the hallway, which made carrying my suitcase incredibly inconvenient. "Wonderful hotel and staff, the two restaurants were very good and we loved the place. The concierge helped us get round trip tix on the daily Hurtigruten/Havila fjord cruise (part of their Norwegian coastal journey has them come into Alesund in the AM and then go down the fjord and back to Alesund that evening). "

"As a long time user of this hotel they should start to look into making the bar and restaurant area more attractive and up-to-date, it is somehow sad stepping into the bar and the restaurant. The staff should also undergo a repeat training of smiling and being courteous. The reception staff were great"

"Very nice stay at the Clarion Admiral, which has a first class location across the harbour from the UNESCO world heritage Bryggen houses. Lovely views from the room. Bergen harbour area is easily walkable from the hotel. Rooms are modern and well-equipped. No parking on site however - public indoor parking several hundred meters from hotel."
