"This was our third stay at Freedom Inn. We love the location within walking distance to the ski field but away from touristy Hirafu. They have a great pick up drop off shuttle service which can take you to dinner in either Hirafu or Kutchan. Try Kutchan for a more authentic japanese experience. You can even stop by an onsen on the way! There also is a free shuttle to/from the ski lifts. The rooms are very spaceous and there is an onsen/ouffro on site too. The photos don't really do this place...

"You cannot ask better view and better price in Toyako area. Quiet, cozy, lake Toya and Mt. Yotei view from your room. Room is big, like a suite. Well maintained facilities, generous amenities. No problem to communicate in English, If you have a car, this is the best choice. Last fall, I stayed here and when I planned to come this area again I didn’t even check other hotel. It says everything."

"We had a western room for December (final week of early season). It was cold. No idea whether it was just my room or the central air-conditioning/heater is down. The in-room heater was not sufficient to warm the room. Asked for different room but they said they are full booked. Booked this property in July, so I was rather disappointed to be given such room. Front counter gave us a portable heater. That did the work but that thing was constantly in the middle of the room so that we don’t sleep...

"Everything was perfect especially the crews. They were always ready to offer their help. The breakfast was a set instead of a buffet but the variety was wide enough and it covered almost everything. No complaints. The only thing they can improve was the differences between the breakfast on the 1st and 2nd day. The breakfast was a bit cold on the 2nd day. Also, we were brought to another room for breakfast because the main room was full and the room was a bit stuffy. The staff seemed not too...

"The room view was great, and the weather was great on the first day, which is essential to enjoy the view of Mt. Yotei. The room was clean but not air-conditioned. Houses in Hokkaido are designed primarily for winter, so it wasn’t cool enough during high summer. Considering the level of global warming, I suppose an air-con will be a must in Hokkaido now... unless the present trend reversed and the climate gets cooler. Otherwise the stay was great!!!"
