They only had smoking rooms available which was really unpleasant. Might be okay if you can get a non smoking room. The rooms are small though if you have ski bags it’s tight.

Front desk staff never bothered to greet us but possibly it’s because it was so busy. Rooms were somewhat clean but could improve - actually we were given a key but the room wasn’t ready when we went upstairs, the door was wide open with no one in sight. Great location, right across from the train station and close to many shops.

The hotel was situated in a very convenient location, it is just opposite to the JR Otaru station and the Sankaku market is just next to the station. I have left a book at the hotel and the staff are very kind and efficient in helping to deliver it to my next hotel. I am very grateful to have stayed at this hotel and I will come back for sure!

#1 choice in Otaru!!
Well located hotel right in front of the Otaru train station. Service is best in class. Onsen offers variety of choices including outdoors and indoors. 9 to 11 pm offers free ramen and ice cream. In the morning it offers free yogurt drink and welcome snacks. Little things add up to an unforgettable experience. My wife and daughter enjoy the stay very much. Also, it is 3 minute walk from fish market with lots of fresh seafood options. The whole town with many landmarks, museums, shops and restaurants, this is the ultimate #1 first stop in Hokkaido. We highly recomend this hotel for your stay in Otaru.

Convenient and Efficient
The hotel is so convenient directly across from the train station. Easy check in and helpful staff with some English spoken. The room was efficient with walk in shower, but no frills. The hotel is right on two major streets, but still very quiet. A taxi stand is located right in front of the hotel. The housekeeping staff are the stars of the show and took care of us.

Defies expectations
The hotel was clean and comfortable overall. While the building and lobby furnishings felt a bit outdated, and the front desk service could use some improvement. The room was clean and cozy, almost as if I had traveled back in time. What truly made my stay unforgettable was the onsen, the breakfast(kaisen-don), and the complimentary evening snacks(ramen). These three elements were so exceptional that they made up for any shortcomings in other areas.

Great experience. With both indoor and outdoor public bath plus sauna. Free ramen from 9:30pm till 11pm. Free popsicle during the day till late at night. Located just right across the train station and the fish market . Excellent value for the price. Hotel itself is old but is clean and got everything we need.

Great location, but lots of low quality guests
Many of the hotel’s guests are loud groups that’ll chat over others in the public onsen and smoke in supposedly non-smoking rooms (it’s fairly easy to tell since when they do it, the cigarette smell and fume will flood the corridor and get into your room!) Given the rather large number of rooms in the building, the laundry facilities are a bit too few too (only 3 sets of washer and dryers in each sex’s onsen). The female ones are always fully occupied The hotel staff were helpful by providing additional air purifiers in our room, though it’s just a shame that the experience was compromised by bad tourists
