"A lovely old 'proper' village pub. Great service and food (just the right sized portions for dinner and breakfast as well. Room was initially warm (we were fine in January without the radiator on all weekend) and the mattress was very soft and bouncy (for us at least compared to what we are used to). "

"We stayed over for a family meal occasion. The service, welcome and meal were all excellent. The room was very nice and the bed was comfortable. The room was also nice and quiet. The only thing that could be improved, and I did mention this at reception, was the lack of suitable electric socket near a mirror, the hairdryer supplied in the room did not reach the mirror meaning you could not see your hair whilst drying it. "Having had a 3 hour drive down, we were greeted with a smile and two delightful rooms. Crisp linen and a smile. Food was fabulous (try the scotch eggs). Beer was good and the conversation was great. Will come back when visiting family. Fully booked for Sunday lunch so make sure you book if coming to stay. Judging by the 3 courses we had well worth booking"
