"If you love water, there is no better location than this one. I grew up on a houseboat and this is like that but without the gentle rocking. Kayaks were available so I could launch right off the porch. It’s only a 30 minute paddle to Homosassa Springs. The wildlife that visits is great to watch. The cabin is very sweet. It has a comforting feel to it and had everything I needed in the kitchen, linens, bathroom. The only snag I had was with the tv. Several times I had to go through the setup again in the morning, then it was good for the rest of the day. The owner already had the password entered so it wasn’t that big of a deal. The screened porch/tiki area is a very nice area to relax in. It is a commons area for both renters. My renting neighbors in the adjoined house were delightful. In a nutshell, I’m coming back! "

"The Beaches "

"The Port hotel is right on the water so the view from the room - which is a bit outdated - but clean - is really nice. I heard that all their rooms face the water! Oddly our room had no drawers. There was a rolling metal basket type thing in a cabinet, but no dresser, or even shelves in the closet. There is a restaurant & bar on site, we didn't eat/drink there, but they looked nice - the bar area has amazing views. There is also a marina that has a super cute shop with everything you could want for a day on the water. It's sad that they're building a big hotel, marina & eventually condos on this site, because the old Florida charm that is currently has (minus the construction site), will be gone. I'd definitely stay there again if I was in the area. "

"My grandson wanted to move in the house is so beautiful and well decorated. Being on the river was very relaxing and convenient. We took the kayaks out every day and enjoyed paddling on the river and looking for manatees. My grandson even saw some otters. The house is near the kayak rental so I enjoyed people watching; noise was not an issue for us and I liked the activity, which is limited to about 9 am to about 6 pm and after that it is complete silence. We liked being able to walk to the restaurant which is about 3 houses down. I'm very glad we chose this spot in Florida for the week. Better than the beach."
