"We had a great stay at the Novotel Alster. It was our first visit to Hamburg. The hotel was clean and always smelt lovely. The staff were nice and everything requested was brought up straight away. The breakfast offering was fresh and lovely and I really liked the fresh lemon and ginger tea bar. You are on the door step of the under/overground which was fantastic and about 12 minutes away from the gorgeous town centre. I had no issues and look forward to coming and staying here again. "This is a very small hotel with no more than 20 rooms (I guess) in a 1910 built elegant building. Street parking was busy but luckily I got one right in front of hotel entrance. Very quite and beautiful neighborhood. "

"all are normally except there is no lift (we were on the 4th floor) and the worst bit is every floor has a phone in the corridor, in the evening when people (in my case a drunk), forget their keys (not manned 24 hrs per day), he or she would ring the bell downstairs and all phones on all floor will ring, this waked me up at least over 3 occasions when sleep is the key factor of any hotel room choices."
