"One of the best place to experience outdoor onsen at 1800m up in the mountain. Not a lot to do outside winter season if you do not drive. The surrounding is beautiful and an hour drive away from the Snow Monkey Park."

"Recommend to stay here. Very new and clean hotel short cut walk 5 min to the Nagano station super convenient. Nagano Station walk to this hotel with the elevator access easy for our big luggage. And so near to station East gate No 23,24 were buses to snow monkey park and Hakuba. We had a triple room with 3 single bed super spacious room with sofa relax area. Clean and conform bed. Will stay here again. Book early for the good rate. "

"It was a decent comfy plac. large bedroom. Friendly helpful staff. The owner even gives people rides to Snow Monkey Park and to the train station! My only disappointment was the picture from their listing showed a large beautiful outdoor onsen with a view, and come to find out that Onsen is not on the property -- it's located ten minutes drive away and closed for winter. That picture was the main reason I picked this hotel, and wanted to show my partner, so we didn't get that nice luxury...

"It was our first time to this area, we chose Ryuoo upon recommendation from a Japanese friend. Very nice Western-style hotel at Ryuoo ski resort. We were in the King Suite, a 2 bedroom/2 bath with a living room. Super spacious, modern living. It is located a very short walk to the base & ticket office. The staff is helpful & they have a great female employee (sorry I forgot her name) who speaks fluent English & French, or translation apps works with everyone. Washer/dryer downstairs, microwave...

"Great experience for the family. Japanese hospitality at its finest. The meals were exceptional and meticulously served. Onsen on our balcony was a treat. Lovely escape after a day of skiing. Highly recommend. Special mention to our dinner waiter Koji-San. Great job!"

"This seemed like a very traditional, well cared for, old, lodge. Couple who run it are very hospitable with many unique features such as tea service, slippers, large breakfast, linens, hot hand packs provided etc. Cold and dark. Thin walls. Shared washing and toilets."

"Absolutely loved our story here. If you book here, get the Sora room. It is worth it. It has its own private bath and lots of space. We loved it. And the town surrounding, is so cute and fun to walk around. It is a short walk from the bus when you arrive. The staff was so welcoming and sweet. We highly recommend staying here. "

"Great resort but a bit older style and window is single pane so cold air still seeps thru the hobby and hallway area. Some of the ceiling and walls are cracking and stains. The resort has family friendly things to do like ping pong and arcade area. The hot spa was pretty good. Breakfast is a great experience. Overall, good experience. "

"Our Host was fantastic and had the siga system set up on the tv and bath was ready for wary traveler. We wish we had booked at least two nights and definately would like to visit for again and for a few nights Having the choice of three private onsen and one in our room was a bonus "
