"This is a beautiful onsen with a friendly hard working staff. My only complaint is that there are no options for breakfast. We have stayed at several onsen in the past that offer traditional Japanese breakfast or western breakfast. I’m kind of picky about seafood, and I don’t like it for breakfast. My breakfast was mainly hoke, a whole (head to tail) grilled fish. "

"The room was spacious, with high ceilings and large windows. We stayed for one night, and it was comfortable. The dinner was just okay, but the breakfast was delicious. The only downside is that the men's and women's onsen baths didn't switch, unlike other onsen hotels I've stayed at. This hotel has a more Western style It's not a traditional onsen ryokan. But overall was a great experience! "

"温泉の中心部から少し離れていますが、湯畑の喧騒から離れて落ち着いて過ごせました。 料理がポイントの宿で夕食は一斉となります。オーナーがソムリエでワインの種類は充実しています。一緒に泊まった妻がアルコールが駄目なので私もノンアルコールにしたのでご主人は少し残念そうでした。ノンアルコールのワインとかがあったら気分だけでも楽しめたかもしれません。 施設は古くなっていますが、手入れは行き届いており、ベッドも快適でした。24時間の温泉があり、宿の中で何度も温泉を楽しめました。また行きたいところ思います。 "

Food was ample and tasty (traditional Japanese foods) and served in the privacy of the room. "The walk to the hotel from the Kusatsu bus station is not a mere 8-10mins or so, esp with luggage in tow and that it’s a bit steep to get to this hotel. Definitely not for older folks!! Didnt like that we also couldnt prearrange for taxi service ahead of time on our way back to Tokyo as we did not want to catch the bus again. One staff seemed a bit uncertain and hesitant about it, so left a bit disappointed. Food was wonderful though, for both breakfast and dinner. The use the local ingredients...
