"We Usually stay in hotels, but decided to stay in a guest house this time. Got to say we were really impressed with Chester house. "I was able to experience staying in a typical Victorian house. The owner made sure I had all I needed; he was prompt, cheerful, and polite. Groceries, fine dining, take-out, etc. are all nearby. I especially liked the charity shops where I was able to buy old books."

" Good value @ £30 a night clean, bed comfortable, a bit cold at night but the duvet was up to the job. Took a while to work out the shower on button it has a subtle action to stay on. The door got stuck a couple of times. Kitchen and washing machine a nice touch. Some water damage from the room above resulting in flakes of paint all over the ensuite sink. Over the top Asians listening to ethnic music while cooking and then chatting in their own language was intrusive / off putting but that...

"This property was the second one in this complex we stayed in. It was much nicer and had a more modern feel however it’s not in the luxury’ category. Heaters worked really well. The mattress was narrower than the frame so was very cramped for two people. The grout in the shower could have been cleaner and there was mould around the edge. Fab hotel

"Lovely hotel, reception staff were very welcoming and explained everything clearly. Decor of reception was gorgeous. Our room was on the ground floor. Classic room which was a comfortable size. Bathroom clean & well appointed with a great shower over the bath, having the controls away from the tap/shower end is very helpful. Lovely decor in the room although the small bed lights got in the way of the pillows. Hospitality tray well stocked but no fridge. I had a massage in the spa which was amazing, Megan was great. We enjoyed the pool area and the spa gardens. We had dinner in both restaurants. The Palm restaurant served a carvery on Sunday which was delicious although the service could have been better, we were left for long periods. The second night we dined in The Nelson, service was good and food was lovely. We had breakfast both days in house which was good with plenty of choice. This was a lovely stay, the hotel is in a beautiful setting which we enjoyed as the weather had been good."
