"I’ve been to many capsules across Japan and my stay here was at the too. Yes, I’ve stayed in Kyoto, Osaka, but wanted to spend a few days in Ōtsu and experience a slower pace and so glad I did! The reviews on Google and Orbitz rated The Calendar high so I gave it a try and I was not disappointed. However, I do need to mention if you are sensitive to smell you might notice the slight scent of smoke. The entire capsule is non-smoking, however there is a smoking room, that when smokers return it...

"Communication was a little difficult due to the language barrier but the staff were helpful; we requested help with cutting a cantaloupe and they obliged. The surroundings and the room was great - it was spacious and had what we needed for a comfortable stay. "

"If you are looking for a remote lake get away in northern Otsu this is ideal. This location suits the out door adventure types who want to be away from Otsu city. The lake was an amazing place to swim. What also would be a Great Lake side party atmosphere and relaxation with a group of friends. Amazing cleanliness despite the overall facility being quite old. However rooms and common room air conditioned which was a life saver in the hight of a Japanese summer. The Hostel is not located near...

"Resort itself is clean and comfortable, the in room onsen is excellent and can change temperature to your liking. There are free drinks and alcohol included. The dinner is excellent and service is great. "

"It was super noisy. But, thankfully the staff quickly moved us to another room which was a bit better - and it was "Hikonyan" themed, which was kinda hilarious. Super convenient location, which was what mattered most for us. And really good value. Oh, and try to Hikone beers they have - best beer in Japan. "
